Not a classic holiday stay
Au cœur des collines is not a coworking space or a conventional holiday apartment.
You won’t find:
- organised entertainment
- tourist facilities on your doorstep
- complete silence
Instead, you’ll be staying in a real place in the Provençal countryside — with nature, changing seasons and everyday family life around you.

The studio & its surroundings
Au cœur des collines is a 36 m² independent studio adjoining our family home, with its own entrance and a private, fenced garden.
It is part of our home and at the same time has its own clearly defined space — a place to work, live and spend time outdoors, while everyday family life continues nearby.
Length of stay & rhythm
Au cœur des collines is a place to stay for a while — not just to pass through.
Longer stays allow time to settle in and find a rhythm of your own:
working, cooking, spending time outdoors, exploring the surroundings and simply being here.
The studio is especially suited to people who can work independently and would like to make everyday life in Provence Verte part of their stay.
Stays start from five nights, with longer stays especially welcome.
Practical & honest notes
Au cœur des collines is located in the hills of Provence Verte, about 3 km outside the village of Cabasse.
There are no shops, cafés or restaurants within walking distance, so a car is recommended for everyday life.
In Cabasse, you’ll find a bakery, two small grocery shops and two restaurants. It can be reached by bicycle if you are comfortable with the hilly terrain.
The nearest larger supermarket and petrol station are about 8 km away.
Our family lives on the property, together with our dog.
The final three kilometres lead along narrow, partly steep but paved country roads. Access is suitable for standard cars, but the final section is steep. Occasional manoeuvring may be necessary when meeting oncoming traffic. Very low vehicles, motorhomes with a long rear overhang and vehicles with trailers are not suitable for the access.
Communication on site is possible in English, French and German.
The studio
The studio is oriented towards the forest and surrounding hills.
It forms an independent part of the main house and offers its own space for both work and everyday life.
The space is designed so that focus and daily living can exist side by side:
a clearly defined work area,
a sleeping space,
a quiet corner for reading and resting,
a well-equipped kitchenette
and a private bathroom.
The studio is equipped with a very stable fibre-optic internet connection, suitable for remote work and reliable online meetings.

The studio includes a private, fully fenced garden of around 200 m² for the exclusive use of guests.
It offers space to work, eat or rest outdoors and is also well suited to guests travelling with a dog.
The only shared area on the property is the swimming pool. It measures 9 × 4 metres, is not heated and is generally available from May to September,
depending on weather conditions.
A parking space is located directly next to the studio.
The character of the studio is closely connected to its location.
It is only in combination with the surrounding environment that this place reveals its particular quality.
The studio forms an independent part of the house, facing the wooded hillside.
Location & surroundings
Au cœur des collines is set among the wooded hills of the Provence Verte, away from major traffic routes and surrounded by a landscape that changes with the seasons.
Walks and hikes start directly at the house, following forest and gravel paths through the hills – often for long stretches without meeting anyone.
The village of Cabasse is around 3 kilometres away. Cotignac and Lorgues, with their markets, cafés and restaurants, are about 25–30 minutes by car.
From here, the landscape opens in different directions: the Basses Gorges du Verdon can be reached in around 50 minutes, while the Mediterranean coast is about an hour away.
This makes it easy to combine quiet days at the studio with walks, village life, the Verdon or a day by the sea – without needing to fill every day with plans.
